We are thrilled to announce that the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation will be joining us at our next Speaker Series on Wednesday, March 24 @ 7PM!

Spadina—Fort York sits on the treaty lands (Treaty 13) of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations.

They will join us to cover some topics, such as:

-What is a treaty? What legal weight do treaties carry? What are the particular areas of contention on Treaty 13?
-What is a nation-to-nation relationship? -Why is it important? What is our duty regarding this concept?
-What is the value of UNDRIP and how do we apply its principles?
-What is a First Nation Council versus a hereditary council?
